Frequently asked

Questions clients ask before we start

The questions clients actually send us before a project starts — how long it takes, what the standard package covers, what moves the price, and what we handle for you. If something is not here, message us and ask.

How long does one video project take?

A single-day shoot — a product film or a corporate video — usually takes 3 weeks from approved brief to master file.

A TVC with a storyboard, casting and multiple shoot days runs closer to 4 weeks.

The shoot itself is the shortest part. Pre-production and revision rounds take the most calendar time. If you have a fixed launch date, tell us at the first call and we schedule backwards from it.

I want to start making video — what packages do you offer?

Our standard package covers the whole job end to end:

  • concept and idea development
  • mood & tone and a storyboard for your approval before the shoot
  • one shoot day with two cameras (wide and tight), full lighting kit and crew
  • edit to a 3–5 minute film with licensed music
  • three rounds of revisions

If your project is smaller or larger than that, we adjust the scope — a half-day shoot, or extra shoot days with a casting team. Tell us the brief first and we shape the package around the actual job rather than fit you into a fixed tier.

What does it cost to start?

We quote per project, because two films of the same length can differ several times over in cost. Four things move the price most:

  • Number of shoot days — the single biggest variable, since crew and equipment are day rates.
  • Cast and usage rights — talent fees depend on where the film runs and for how long.
  • Location — a studio, your own office, or a permitted outdoor location are three different numbers.
  • Specialist equipment — drone, gimbal, motion control, high-speed camera, charged as used.

You get a line-item quote, so you can see what every line is for and compare it against another company’s quote row by row — not one lump sum.

Send the brief on LINE: what the film is for, where it will run, and when you need it. That is enough for us to come back with a realistic budget range.

What services do you offer?

Four main formats:

  • TV commercials (TVC) — 15 / 30 / 60 seconds, for broadcast and online
  • Brand films — 2–5 minutes, built on story rather than product features; launches, anniversaries, rebrands
  • Product films — tabletop, demonstration and hero shots, usually a single shoot day
  • Digital and social — vertical-first for Meta, TikTok and YouTube

Everything is handled in house by one team — concept, script, storyboard, casting, the shoot, edit, colour grade, sound and motion graphics.

We also shoot event stills. If you need both stills and video from the same event, we recommend a separate photographer and videographer rather than one person switching between them.

Do you develop the concept, or do we bring our own?

We develop it. Most clients arrive with a business problem rather than a finished script, so we build the concept, script, mood & tone and storyboard from there.

We start by listening — what the film has to achieve, who it speaks to, and where it will run. Then we come back with one direction we believe in, not a menu of three. Handing a client three options means we have not made the decision yet.

If your agency has already produced a storyboard, we are happy to come in as the production partner and shoot it.

Do you handle locations and casting?

Yes, both.

Casting — we present options during pre-production and handle booking, contracts and usage rights.

Locations — we scout and visit in person before the shoot day, and arrange filming permits.

Both are quoted separately from the production fee, because talent fees depend on where the film runs and for how long, and location costs depend on the place. They appear as their own lines on the quote rather than buried in one figure.

What do we need to prepare before the first call?

Three things:

  • What the film is for — product launch, company introduction, paid ads, something else
  • Where it will run — TV, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, an event screen
  • When you need it — any fixed date

If you have reference films you like, send the links. It saves a lot of time, because the picture in everyone’s head is different.

You do not need a script, a storyboard, or the industry vocabulary. That part is our job.

How many rounds of revisions are included?

Three rounds as standard, included in the quote.

We always lock the edit first. Getting the story right before anyone spends a day grading a shot that gets cut saves time on both sides. Once the structure is approved we move to colour, sound and graphics.

If you want more after the third round, we tell you the additional cost before we start — never on the final invoice.

What files do we get at the end?

  • Master file, graded and mixed
  • Cut-downs in the aspect ratios you need — 16:9, 9:16, 1:1
  • Subtitle files
  • Licensed music, cleared for the usage stated in the quote

Files arrive named and foldered, so your media team can upload them without coming back to ask which file is which.

Can you shoot outside Bangkok?

Yes. We are based in Bangkok and shoot across Thailand and overseas.

Out-of-town work adds crew travel and accommodation, which appear as their own lines on the quote rather than being folded into the production fee.

Can you work in English?

Yes. We take briefs, write call sheets and run client communication in both Thai and English.

We have worked with international brands, and the team speaks directly with client servicing or brand teams who do not speak Thai — no interpreter in the middle.

We already have a storyboard — can you just shoot it?

Yes. We take on production-partner jobs, shooting boards produced by your agency or in-house team.

In that case the scope starts at pre-production — crew booking, locations, casting, scheduling — then the shoot and post. The price differs from the full package because concept development is not included.

How do we pay?

Bank transfer or cash. We do not take credit cards.

Payment terms are set out in the quote for each project and agreed before work starts.

Where can we see your past work?

On the work page — commercials, brand films and corporate videos for Victoria’s Secret Thailand, KENWOOD, Coway, NETA, Centara, Rabbit Card, AROUND Magazine and CNP Laboratory.

If you would rather see work from your own sector specifically, message us and we will send a shorter, closer selection.

Still not the answer you needed?

Message us on LINE @heyfolkfilm. A short brief is enough — what the film is for, where it will run, and when you need it.
