STAGE 01 / 03 — BEFORE THE CAMERA ROLLS
Pre-production is everything that happens before the camera rolls. At Heyfolk Film we develop the concept, write the script, board the film, cast the talent, scout the locations and issue the call sheet — so that on the shoot day nothing is being decided for the first time. A typical pre-production runs about seven working days after a three-day concept phase.

A single-day product film takes about three weeks from brief to final master. A storyboarded TVC with casting and a multi-day shoot takes about four. Pre-production is the longest stretch of that calendar — and the reason the shoot day itself runs short.

Either. Most clients come with a business objective rather than a script, and we develop the concept, script and storyboard from there. If your agency has already boarded the film, we execute it as a production partner.
Yes. We present casting options at pre-production and handle booking, contracts and usage rights. Talent fees and usage are quoted separately from the production fee because they depend on where and how long the film runs.
We do. Location recce is part of pre-production; location fees and filming permits are quoted as separate line items so you can see exactly what each location costs before it is booked.
